Being good with nervous patients is about much more than simply saying “don’t worry”. At Tiwari Watson Dental Care, we focus heavily on creating an experience that feels gentler, calmer and more supportive from the moment you first get in touch.

We always take treatment at your pace, explain everything clearly and make sure you feel in control throughout your appointments. Many nervous patients say that simply feeling listened to and understood makes a huge difference.

We also use a range of comfort measures designed specifically to help anxious patients feel more relaxed during treatment.

Before treatment begins, we use topical numbing gel and warm the anaesthetic to body temperature using specialist warming machines that many practices do not have. These small details can make treatment feel significantly more comfortable and less intimidating for nervous patients.

We also offer noise-cancelling headphones and video goggles so you can listen to music or watch something during treatment to help distract and relax you throughout your appointment.

A calmer and more comfortable approach to dentistry.

There is absolutely no judgement here. We see these situations every day, and our role is simply to help you feel comfortable, supported and able to move forward at your own pace. Many patients tell us afterwards that the experience felt far easier and calmer than they expected.

At Tiwari Watson Dental Care, we genuinely love seeing the difference that a healthy, confident smile can make to someone’s confidence and quality of life.

IV sedation for
nervous patients.

For patients who feel especially anxious about dental treatment, we also offer IV sedation.

IV sedation is designed to help you feel deeply relaxed during treatment whilst still remaining responsive and able to communicate with the dental team. Many patients feel much calmer during treatment and often remember very little about the appointment afterwards.

Sedation can be particularly helpful for patients with severe dental anxiety, strong gag reflexes or those undergoing more involved dental treatment. For many nervous patients, sedation is what finally allows them to move forward with treatment after years of avoiding the dentist.

Award-winning care for nervous patients.

At Tiwari Watson Dental Care, supporting nervous patients is not something we see as an afterthought. It is a core part of how we care for people.

We are proud to have won awards for treatment of nervous patients, reflecting the care, attention and thought we put into making dental treatment feel more comfortable and manageable.

We understand that many patients feel embarrassed about their teeth or worried about how long it has been since they last visited a dentist. There is no judgement here. Our focus is always on helping you feel supported, informed and able to rebuild confidence gradually.

For us, one of the most rewarding parts of dentistry is seeing the difference that treatment can make to someone’s confidence, comfort and quality of life.

Dentistry for nervous patients.

If you feel nervous about going to the dentist, you are not alone. For many people, dental anxiety is not simply about treatment itself. It can be fear of pain, embarrassment about the condition of their teeth, worry about being judged or concern about not feeling in control.

At Tiwari Watson Dental Care, helping nervous patients feel comfortable is a huge part of what we do. We understand how difficult it can be to make that first appointment, particularly if you have had a negative experience in the past or have avoided the dentist for many years.

We understand that for many nervous patients, the hardest part is simply making that first contact.

That is why we offer free consultations with our Treatment Co-ordinator where you can talk through your worries, ask questions and understand your options in a calm and supportive environment before deciding whether to move forward with treatment.

If you are ready to take the next step, we can then arrange a more detailed clinical consultation with the dentist for assessment and treatment planning.
